The core philosophy of the Wahi Center revolves around the recognition that every human being on the planet has a unique purpose for which they are alive.  This purpose becomes skewed and sometimes even lost with the use of alcohol and other drugs, and it is our goal to assist each individual to rediscover their sense of self and their purpose in this life.   

 

We feel that the best way to accomplish this is through engaging everyone on all levels of their being:  body, mind, and spirit.  In our experience, it is only when all three of these levels are treated can true recovery from the tendency to use alcohol and other drugs occur.  On a physical level, this is accomplished through first recognizing that alcohol and other drugs deplete the body of vital nutrients, which we replenish through the use of intravenous and oral nutritional supplementation, as well as through healthy eating habits.  This process, when combined with an exercise regimen, effectively restores the physical health and vitality of the body--without which no true healing process can begin.    On a mental level, recovery is accomplished through individual and group counseling, participation in 12-step groups, and recreational activities--all of which allow the individual to discover and uproot the underlying issues that are driving their addiction process.  On a spiritual level, recovery is accomplished through facilitating the individual's connection to their own spirituality which, when achieved, grounds the individual in a reality of themselves and their relationship with their environment such that the need to use drugs or alcohol is nonexistent.
